John Manning is a Principal at Proximis Digital Inc.

John is a communications professional who produces memorable, results-oriented campaigns for clients.  With more than four dozen client engagements under his belt, he has an eye for detail, a talent for anticipating risk, and an obsession with choosing winning strategies.  Under his leadership, Proximis has grown from two goofs in a coffee shop to a mid-size advertising agency with a distinctive and uniquely impactful style of storytelling.

Before establishing the company in 2014, John worked for a top public affairs advertising firm in Vancouver.  He has also been a senior adviser to three B.C. health ministers and is a veteran of the BC Liberal Party’s election war rooms in 2013 and 2017 in the areas of policy, communications, and advertising.

In 2014, John’s branding work helped propel a 21-year old first-time candidate to the top of the polls in his municipality, making him the youngest elected official in BC’s Capital Region.  During that time he was also a core member of the advertising team for the Mayor of Vancouver’s successful re-election campaign.  More recently, he was the creative director for Michael Lee’s BC Liberal leadership bid where he and the Proximis team produced the campaign’s branding and the vast majority of all creative products.

John has an Economics & Environmental Science degree from Queen’s University.  He likes snow and talking quietly.
